MURRAY SMAHSES RAONIC

Andy Murray has defeated Milos Raonic of Canada in the fourth round of the US Open at the Flushing Meadows.  With this victory, Murray has secured a place in the final 8. Murray won the match in the straight sets by 6-4, 6-2, 6-2.  Raonic, who was given the 15th seed in the competition, tried to rattle Murray with his power game, but, Murray’s class proved to be too much for him. The British superstar played some fantastic return shots and defeated Raonic without having much difficulty. The Canadian player smashed 14 aces in the match, but, that was not enough to stop Murray from winning the match.

In the third round match against Feliciano Lopez, Murray had missed many opportunities and he had to toil hard to win that match. But, in this match, he looked fluent right from the outset. It was wonderful to watch him play in that manner. He latched on every opportunity that came his way. Murray hasn’t won any Grand Slam yet, but, the way he is playing in this tournament, it seems that his first Grand Slam title is not far away.

Murray broke Raonic’s service four times in the entire match, while, the Canadian player didn’t manage to get even a single breakthrough in the match. In the post match interview, Murray said that he was quite disappointed with his performance in the last match, but, he is happy that he is back on track again. As per Murray, it was not easy to compete against Raonic as he serves very powerfully. If you are not quick on your feet, Raonic will just blow you away with his powerful service. In the quarter final, Murray will play against Marin Cilic of Croatia who reached the quarterfinals with an easy victory over Martin Klizan.
